Vintage Soccer Ball is a hand-sewn piece, constructed of leather panels, thread and an innertube. This piece was inspired by John Paul's Balls. Following the artist’s instruction, I cut and assembled the hexagons, tailoring the composition to my own design. The front piece of the ball has a series of unfinished numbers engraved on it, salvaged from found pieces of leather.
As a soccer and vintage lover, I chose the format of a vintage soccer ball. The piece is meant to function as both an artwork to be displayed, as well as a soccer ball to be used.
