Connection. What does this mean? How are we all connected? What does it mean to be connected? These were the thoughts in my mind as I began this painting for President Kuecker. As I began brainstorming with others, I was challenged to think about how God’s creation is all connected and how God has given us everything that we need. This began me thinking about ecosystems and creation, about trees and roots and rhizome mushrooms, and invisible strings. John 15 came to mind as well as a memory of when President Kuecker spoke on this chapter during the student leadership training a few years ago and how it has stayed with me.
This painting has many layers, representing the underlying connections and invisible strings that are present yet not always seen. This painting holds a silent image of a tree which is only seen when sought out. This painting resembles a mosaic or stained glass window or puzzle showing that we are all connected to one another. Connection. It surrounds us. We are all connected in God’s perfect Kingdom.
