FORGIVENESS PAINTING

This painting is layered in both meaning and process. The piece is comprised of a total of five layers, including various colors, textures and stories. The outermost layer includes shades of white, blue, yellow and pink blended together. The blurriness of the blended colors is meant to act as a masking layer, symbolizing forgiveness. Portions of the layers beneath are revealed, so as not to erase the past.
The painting is titled Forgiveness, to echo the artist’s experience of making. The painting is a physical portrayal of what it looks like to forgive.
